Non recyclable (landfill) waste

Must only be put in tied black refuse bags and placed inside the requisite bin in the bin room.

You must tie bin bags securely to avoid leakage and odours, you must not leave them outside your door or in the common parts and must clean up any you are responsible for.

Dry mixed recyclables

Clear recycling bags are available from reception as part of the GJW service charge and should be used for recycling waste. Cardboard packaging must be flattened before putting in the recycle bin and not left in the bin room outside the bin.

Larger items of rubbish e.g. furniture, electrical items, etc.

These will not be removed as we cannot put them in Great Jubilee Wharf bins, so please do not leave them in the bin rooms.

Take them to the Tower Hamlets Recycling Centre in Yabsley Street, which is open every day except Christmas Day.

Alternatively, as a Tower Hamlets service, each household is entitled to two free bulky or large waste collections per year – with up to five items taken away per collection.
